The awards exemplify architectural firm’s excellence and diversity within the commercial, residential, and multifamily industries.
McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners, one of the nation’s leading architectural planning and interior design firms, has been honored with 16 Award of Merits for design excellence presented by PCBC - The Premier Building Show. The Award of Merit winners represent excellence and innovation in addressing complex design / build issues in the 14 Western states. One of the most important aspects of the Award of Merits announced for MVE is that the firm was recognized in 16 separate product types or categories of development. This not only underscores the firm’s depth of design expertise but illustrates MVE’s substantial product diversity for its clients.
The Award of Merit is the predecessor to the Gold Nugget Awards, the oldest and largest program of its kind honoring creative achievements in architectural design and land-use planning for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Over the years, the Gold Nugget Awards ceremony has expanded its categories for awards and attracts hundreds of submittals from architects and developers across the 14 Western states and the Pacific Rim. The Gold Nugget Awards is one of the top merchant-oriented awards competitions in the country. MVE’s Award of Merit winners are eligible to receive the Grand Award of the Gold Nuggets in each of their respective categories. The Grand Award will be presented at PCBC on June 19 in San Francisco.
"We are honored by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference judges in their selection of McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners, Inc for 16 Award of Merits for the upcoming 2003 Gold Nugget Awards ceremony," said Carl McLarand, President and Partner, McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners. "The Gold Nugget Awards are one of the leading design awards competitions in the country. The recognition is important to our firm not just because of the product recognition but because of the commitment and vision of our design team who are truly at the top of their field."
McLarand added that the awards are a testament to MVE’s commercial, institutional, residential, and mixed-use designs that responds to the needs of the local community and clients’ desires and remain an impressive illustration of the firm’s diverse portfolio and architectural strength.
McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners, and its predecessor firms, has a long history with the Gold Nugget awards. In 1976, the firm’s first project, Orange Lakes, was awarded a Gold Nugget. Since that time, the firm has received a minimum of one Gold Nugget Award and as many as eight Gold Nuggets each year, excluding the years MVE participated as judges for the event. In 2002, MVE received two Grand Awards for Viejo Carmel, a unique 20-unit infill project in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California and Durant Village, a 168-unit townhome development in Oakland, California.
McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners is one of the country’s most influential and active design organizations, encompassing a diverse team of facility programmers, planners, architects, computer specialists and interior designers.
