MVE Release - Thursday, April 17, 2003 (Irvine, CA)

McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners, one of the region’s leading architectural planning and interior design firms, announced today that it has received top honors for six of its single family and multi-family communities located in the United States and Puerto Rico by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME). The awards are testament to MVE’s high quality design, planning and architectural strength and diversity both domestically and abroad.

"We create built environments that work with form, space, and market program to respond to the context of the site," said Rick Emsiek, Partner at McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners. "Each of these awards represents a different facet of our expertise - overall quality, comprehensive designs, and diversity - thus reinforcing our approach to design projects which result in a positive response from the user and become an integral part of the greater community."

The 2003 NAHB Pillars of the Industry Awards honors excellence in multifamily development, design, marketing, and management. MVE was singled out for two distinct communities. The resort atmosphere design of Marbella Club in Puerto Rico’s Palmas Del Mar Resort received "Best Luxury Multi-Family Development." In addition the cottage living infill project of Viejo Carmel in Carmel-by-the Sea, California, received "Best For Sale Housing Community" for more than 40 dwelling units per acre.

In the "Best Luxury Multi-Family Development" category, there were six finalists, three of which were designed by MVE. These projects included the overall winner, Marbella Club; Viejo Carmel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California; and Miramar Apartments in Foster City, California.

Attracting more than 500 entries involving new home communities in Southern California, the 2002 MAME Awards encompass all facets of new home marketing and merchandising. This year, four MVE single-family and multi-family communities were honored:
