Renaissance Square Concord, CA

Client: Signature PropertiesStatus: On-the-Boards

One of the key objectives of the urban planning design concept is to create a walkable community, blocks from the downtown urban core of Concord, California. The revival of the downtown area is one of most important needs for the City's growth so that commuters, pedestrians and residents can participate in the underutilized urban transit community. This mixed-use project will consist of 309 condominium units and 4,500 sq.ft. of retail and/or professional use. The project is comprised of three buildings with four to five stories of condominium units above two levels of underground parking. A variety of units will be offered from live/work, flats and three-bedroom townhomes. The project's architectural expression consists of a modern day interpretation of the Santa Barbara/Spanish Revival vernacular. Buildings are rich in detail, creating visually interesting and well-articulated exterior elevations. To create a strong urban edge, private terraces and stoops have been introduced to reinforce the urban quality of the project. A central walking mew, within the center of the project and adjacent to outdoor courtyards, will encourage neighbors to gather in this quaint urban village atmosphere. The project site, an existing auto dealership, is a 5.06-acre redevelopment area adjacent to the downtown core and will creatively link residents, pedestrians and commuters to the local neighborhood and Todos Santos shopping area.
