The Peninsula at Hawaii Kai Honolulu, HI

Client: SCD InternationalContractor: SCD InternationalCompletion Date: April, 2004

Situated on a peninsula inside a protected harbor in the Hawaii Kai District, East Oahu, this 590-unit planned residential village boasts a variety of detached, attached and condominium residences catering to a broad range of discretionary home buyers for five residential villages. The gated development features a one-acre community center and private marina that will serve as a focal point to internal roadway patterns and pedestrian trails. The 46-acre project combines pedestrian-friendly alley-loaded cottages with view-oriented cluster homes and luxury waterfront residences. Moderate density court-loaded townhouses and high-density condominiums accelerate absorption by adding depth to the profile of potential buyers. The mixture of architectural styles reflecting the plantation/ cottage character of the Hawaiian lifestyle with regional craftsman style are blended together to create a sense of place of yesterday with modern amenities. A waterfront pedestrian path dotted with passive seating areas links the neighborhood to the community park and harbor overlook. Additional pocket parks and pathways will help extend the waterfront character into the heart of the village.
