Tresor at the Almaden Winery San Jose, CA

Client: New Cities DevelopmentContractor: New Cities ConstructionCompletion Date: June, 1996

The land plan clusters homes at Tresor in groups of four around European styled motor courts to create an intimate neighborhood feel. The motor court serves as a private, protected playground for children and a social amenity for adults. By removing garage doors from a central community loop street, the street scene is animated with front doors and entry porches. This infill site was encumbered by a variety of site constraints from a grade fall across the site to the positive/negative aspects of a nearby public transportation route. The project team worked to maintain a public drive through the site linking the Almaden Winery with neighboring single-family homes, and to preserve the Almaden Rose Garden and Winery Park.
