The Pacific Club Newport Beach, CA

Services: Architecture | Interiors Client: The Pacific ClubContractor: Snyder LangstonCompletion Date: November, 2006

The Pacific Club is designed to be one of the premier private dining facilities in Southern California offering fine dining in a world-class setting. Traditional design motifs and the finest quality materials come together to create a timeless and comfortable environment.

The main lobby and adjoining library set the tone for the project with elegant granite flooring and walnut paneling, which is used extensively throughout the Club. The Library features a custom designed fireplace and contains over 1,000 volumes. On axis with the Library is the Living Room, designed as a comfortable gathering space for members and their guests, with a limestone fireplace, walnut flooring and a custom designed carpet. Throughout the Club, private dining rooms of varying sizes offer members opportunities for dining and meeting in a variety of settings. The largest of these rooms is the Main Ballroom where a chandelier of Murano glass takes center stage. Members can also enjoy the quiet elegance of the Talbot Grill and adjacent bar.

The bar is designed to become everyone’s favorite watering hole with walnut paneling, copper wallcovering and embossed leather panels. After cocktails, members make their way into the Grill, which is entirely sheathed in walnut paneling to highlight a fine collection of California plein-air paintings. A new state-of-the-art display kitchen heightens the culinary experience while sets of French doors give onto a granite paved dining terrace overlooking Lake Koll. As a design departure, the Wine Cellar dining room recreates an Old-World ambience with brick flooring, hand troweled plaster walls and a groin vault supporting a custom wrought-iron chandelier. A glass wall provides diners with a direct view into the climate controlled wine cellar showcasing the Club’s outstanding collection of fine wines. All these elements come together to support an ambience of understated quality combined with fine dining and outstanding service.
