Trillium at Rio Salado Tempe, AZ

Client: Magellan DevelopmentContractor: Magellan DevelopmentCompletion Date: January, 2007

Trillium at rio salado is comprised of 466 market-rate apartment units and is the only rental component in the master plan of Papago Park. The gated community is organized with three individual residential buildings clustered about the central recreation and leasing components on one parcel and a fourth building, with recreation area, located on a distinct parcel. The buildings address the commercially oriented public streets and light rail system in an urban manner. Parking is provided both on the street and in single level, partially subterranean structures.

The elevator cores are strategically placed on the building perimeters to provide disabled access without the use of ramps. Other amenities include a recreation area with two pool areas, a fitness room, theater, resident business office and conference rooms. The individual buildings are comprised of generous studio plans, plus one, two and three-bedroom plans, with loft space on the top-floor units.

The building character reflects the contemporary nature of the surrounding facilities, the desert forms of the region and the rich textures and colors of the surrounding environment and vegetation. The design intent is to create a modern living environment responding to the region's climate and adjacencies.
