MVE is the lead master planning/design architect for the 85-acre, East Campus residential development associated with a new university campus for California State University, Channel Islands. The East Campus is located on a largely undeveloped property and includes 900 residential units comprised of single family detached and attached apartments, to house both faculty and staff. MVE worked with the University and its key consultants in establishing roadway locations, residential product distribution and phasing, open space and pedestrian trail networks, setbacks, streetscapes and urban design elements, as well as architectural services, for the initial 200-unit apartment component. Our firm also assisted with the interface master planning for retail, library and student union links between the campus and the adjacent residential development.
