Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic at Howard Hughes Center Los Angeles, CA

Services: Architecture | Planning Client: Health Realty Trust and Medistar CorporationContractor: Peck/Jones ConstructionCompletion Date: November, 1997

This five-story state-of-the-art medical clinic provides a one-stop diagnostic treatment, surgery center and rehabilitation facility uniting two premier sports medicine organizations. The Kerlan-Jobe Clinic is one of the foremost orthopaedic and sports medicine practices in America, serving as team physicians for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. The Health South Corporation, an outpatient surgery and rehabilitation services provider, furnishes sports medicine support for 40 professional teams including the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Rockets. The facility is the fourth building located at Howard Hughes Center along the San Diego Freeway near LAX. The Kerlan-Jobe building launched the next phase of development on the pedestrian-oriented 70-acre complex, establishing vastly different design criteria from earlier planning efforts in the 2.7 million square foot premiere business center on the bustling westside of Los Angeles.
