Miramar Apartments Foster City, CA

In an effort to create a balance between jobs and the housing stock in Foster City, the Redevelopment Agency and Prometheus Real Estate Group worked together to redevelop a former strip mall into a new, complimentary use to the water-oriented, masterplanned community of Foster City. In contrast to the original strip mall, the new luxury residential apartment village creates a wonderful view corridor through the development to the waterfront. The three buildings are organized around a European-style arrival plaza at the lake edge, celebrating the waterfront living experience. The buildings are designed with three residential levels above one-level podium construction with elevator service to all levels. Buildings scale down at the existing single-family edge to a 2-story level in order not to overpower the adjacent privacy of these single-family homes.
