Pacific City Huntington Beach, CA

Client: Makar PropertiesStatus: On-the-Boards

Pacific City is a large mixed-use development located along the oceanfront in the City of Huntington Beach. The goal of the project is to transform an under-used former oil field into a vibrant new urban village for the residents and the surrounding communities. By taking advantage of the site topography, parking is kept below the level of the pedestrian and street network to create a smaller scale building fabric and to provide a dramatic elevated promenade and terraces for the development. The project will consist of two major components: The City Center, 10.6 acres of visitor-serving commercial along Pacific Coast Highway, and The Village, 17.2 acres of high-density residential neighborhoods. The City Center consists of 240,000 sq.ft. of retail, restaurants, entertainment and office uses, as well as a 400-room, 8-story hotel. The City Center is organized along a crescent-shaped retail promenade connecting a series of formal and informal plazas, wide terraces, patios and gathering places. The Village is composed of three residential neighborhoods with unique dwelling types clustered around open space amenities. The unit types include townhomes, stacked flats and luxury condominiums. The neighborhoods are organized around a private loop drive with gated entries that connect directly to entries at the City Center.
