The new Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center will house pre-trial youth pending appearance in the new, on-site delinquency courthouse. In addition to this population, the detention facility will also provide temporary placement for youth in foster care who are between placements. The Juvenile Courts component is planned to meet current and future court needs, with spaces planned large enough to meet anticipated future staffing levels. Security is emphasized and circulation patterns create clear separations of public, in-custody and staff areas. This facility will house prosecutorial and defense staff working with juvenile delinquents and offer a waiting room for families visiting the court. Associate Architect - Rosser International
