MVE + Partners Announces Opening of Dixon Place in Salt Lake City, a 6-story, 59-unit Mixed-use Apartment Community

Dixon Place joins the Sugar House District, complementing its historic past with sleek features and modern amenities for renters

SALT LAKE CITY – (January 31, 2022) – Salt Lake’s Sugar House neighborhood renaissance continues with the opening of Dixon Place, designed by MVE + Partners, a leading architecture, planning, interiors and graphic design firm. The 59-unit, 100% leased, Class A development designed for developer Lowe Property Group, and nestled in the heart of a burgeoning area, features a raw yet sophisticated style that nods to the industrial and artistic heritage of the area.

Comprised of 49,039 square feet of rentable space, the boutique apartment complex offers 35 one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom units all featuring full kitchens and bathrooms as well as washer and dryers. Stunning oversized floor-to-ceiling windows in every home offer views of the bustle below. The 2,200 square feet of ground-floor commercial space also houses developer Lowe Property Group’s newest headquarters, also designed by MVE + Partners.

“Salt Lake City is one of the fastest growing regions in the U.S. and an extremely promising area for multifamily real estate development,” said Pieter Berger, Senior Associate Partner at MVE + Partners. “We are excited to complete a new design that reflects the rich history and culture of the Sugar House neighborhood while providing modern features and amenities renters desire.”

Ample amenities include a business lounge and conference room for remote workers, a top-of-the-line fitness center, bike storage, Bark Park for pets, EV charging stations, a coffee bar and pool table for residents to enjoy. A two-story living green-wall serves as a focal point in the lobby space and was inspired by the mountain vegetation surrounding Salt Lake City’s desert environment.

Located at 1034 East Elm Ave., the community is perfect for business professionals, singles and young families. Highly walkable and accessible to transit, the mixed-use community is located on the same street as the S. line light rail stop. Fairmont Park and Hidden Hollow Nature Walk are within walking distance, as is the Sugar House neighborhood’s lively nightlife scene featuring breweries, sports bars and chic cocktail lounges. Also nearby are 2100 South and Highland Drive’s galleries, dance venues and vibrant shopping scene complete with thrift stores, indie boutiques and big brand chains.

Its name also pays homage to the Dixon family, who previously owned the property in the early 1900s as one of the original settlers in the Sugar House neighborhood.

“My wife’s great grandfather, George Dixon, was one of the founders of Sugar House and we are honored to pay tribute to him and the Dixon family for their contributions to the Sugar House community,” said Alex Lowe, Principal at Lowe Property Group.

Honoring the area’s industrial past, the 87,874-square-foot community features exposed brick and concrete while incorporating glass and steel elements that add a modern touch. Large windows throughout the community also provide ample natural light for residents and create an inviting atmosphere that seamlessly incorporates the building into the surrounding community.

“As a family business that has called Salt Lake City home for many years, we are excited to house our new company headquarters in Dixon Place while also providing a desirable housing option for the Sugar House neighborhood,” said Ben Lowe, principal at Lowe Property Group. “We are seeing MVE + Partners’ vision that honors the area’s past with a modern and sophisticated twist come to fruition.”

In addition to Dixon Place, MVE + Partners has designed two other upcoming projects for Lowe Property Group: 6th & Main and Sugar Alley. A third project, Post House, with Lowe Property Group, Q Factor and BCG Holdings is also in the works.
