MVE + PARTNERS CELEBRATES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

With five decades of prestigious projects, and numerous awards, the Orange County architecture firm shows no signs of slowing down

IRVINE, Calif., February 26, 2024 – MVE + Partners, a leading architecture, design and planning firm, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this month, marking 2024 the Golden Anniversary of the award-winning group. It’s a momentous occasion for the agency, celebrating the culmination of many years of excellence in innovation as well as the launch of many years of creative projects to come.

MVE + Partners was founded by Carl McLarand in Santa Ana, CA, in 1974, with the goal of being “exceptional by design.” 50 years later, this motto still applies. The firm began with a focus on residential and commercial development, and with every new success along the way, its leaders took opportunities to refine the practice in these areas, while gradually expanding into others.

Today, MVE stands proud of a robust portfolio of projects across the globe. MVE’s designs have graced the skyline of states such as California, Utah, Arizona, and Colorado, and countries including Mexico, UAE and China, to name a very few. MVE’s work can be found in Downtown L.A., Santa Monica, Pasadena, Long Beach, and Beverly Hills where it recently completed the notable 5-star award-winning branded project Mandarin Oriental Residences (the hotel brand’s first luxury residences in the U.S.) and is working on the nearby Rosewood Residences, a collection of luxury branded apartments with resort style amenities. In Koreatown, MVE developed Hallasan, a 38-story residential tower with panoramic views adding a contemporary living development to the neighborhood.

In Orange County, MVE is responsible for the county’s leading residential and hospitality developments including the award-winning Residences at Pacific City, Rafferty in historic downtown Santa Ana, A-Town in Anaheim, The Village at Irvine Spectrum, and Meridian at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island. On the horizon is work on the greatly anticipated ocV!BE, which will become a coveted destination spot.

“At MVE, we believe that our past experiences shape our future success. By combining the lessons learned from our past with the tools and innovation of the present, we are able to achieve greatness. We are proud of our longstanding client relationships, as they are a testament to our commitment to understanding the people behind the projects and their unique goals,” said Matthew McLarand, president and director of design at MVE + Partners. “Our extensive portfolio is a result of the hard work of our dedicated staff, and we are excited about the journey ahead as we continue to make a positive impact on skylines around the world.”

Over a half century MVE has received  numerous awards and much critical acclaim, including 323 Gold Nuggets, 22 AIA awards, 24 ULI Awards, 49 Best in American Living Awards, 27 National Association of Homebuilders Awards, and 26 Builders Choice Awards.

Behind MVE’s robust assortment of incredible projects is an enthusiastic staff of 100 architects, designers, planners, programmers and technical specialists, who collaborate to produce work for a myriad of development types including: residential, mixed-use, commercial, civic/public, retail, institutional, hospitality, recreational, cultural and performing arts and transit.

Through its design expertise and attentive client service, MVE helps solve the architectural needs of many communities. Even as MVE’s portfolio currently represents a diverse range of projects, the next 50 years are slated to bring even more innovation, sophistication, and adaptability.
